On the Cultural Policy of the Foreign Office

 Sat 18. January 2020, 15:00 h | 60 Minutes
  HAU 2 | Bühne, Berlin

*** Update: Unfortunately we’ve received word that Michelle Müntefering has to cancel and there’s also no other representative from the German Federal Foreign Office available this day to speak on this subject. We’re currently working at top speed to find a substitute that can discuss the topic of »German International Arts and Culture Policy« with us. Check back here for more information. ***

When she assumed her office in March 2018, Michelle Müntefering, minister of state for international cultural policy in the Federal Foreign Office,  set a goal of protecting spaces for the freedom of art and culture, as well as intensifying international cooperation with regard to the freedom of art.

Almost two years later, she gives us a glimpse into her current perspective on her work and addresses the questions that come up in our work. What art is exported by the Federal Foreign Office, and where? What are the current priorities for international cultural policy? And what is her vision for Germany's international cultural policy? Stephan Behrmann, director of the Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste, will be the host of this talk.

The event will be held in German and will be translated simultaneously into English. There is no need to register for the event.
