Submitting applications, preparing statements of expenditure, going through bureaucratic procedures, gathering offers for comparison, pursuing acquisitions and maintaining a network - all things that mean that our core business, creating art, gets pushed aside. Making one's own art, developing it -- and not constantly planning out how it will be profitable. Sound utopian?
Harald Redmer, member of the German Association of Independent Performing Arts' board and director of the NRW Landesbüro Freie Darstellende Kunst, leads a discussion that aims to develop some ideas about how an artist’s biography must/should/can be continually financed.
