What challenges must be met in the coming years? What needs to be discussed with policy-makers and administrators in order to achieve lasting improvements for everyone involved in the field of cultural education? In a closing event with three statements and a discussion, positions will be raised, problems named and possible paths towards solutions identified. It will also address the places where cultural education takes place through the independent performing arts: urban spaces as well as rural ones, public space and the classroom. It's about opening up a space for possibilities, in which new forms of cooperation between artists and other stakeholders can be tested out. The artistic quality that's created within cultural education projects should be reinforced and made more visible.
This concluding discussion features Prof. Dr. Christoph Lutz-Scheurle, Dortmund University for Applied Sciences, Anne Hartmann, Braunschweig University of Art, and Harald Redmer, member of the German Association of Independent Performing Arts' board and director of the regional office for independent performing arts in North Rhine-Westphalia, with Christine Brinkmann, chair of the jury for »tanz und theater machen stark« and member of the zakk (Düsseldorf) programme planning team, as moderator.
