The Initiative für die Archive des Freien Theaters e. V. is striving for the creation of a decentralised, digital archive of the independent performing arts on the federal level. An important goal of the initiative is to inscribe into cultural memory the theatre and dance work in the independent scene, with its autonomous performative aesthetic. It also aims to make the material created for and arising from these works available for academic and artistic research. Initiatives and projects on a state and municipal level make up the core of the nascent archive.
This event provides updates on the current status of this work and aims to inspire, through practical examples, the creation of new projects and initiatives on the state and municipal level.
Session leaders and moderators: Christine Henniger and Henning Fülle from the Initiative für die Archive des Freien Theaters and Stephan Behrmann, director of the German Association of Independent Performing Arts.
