LAFT – Landesverband freie darstellende Künste Berlin is thrilled to welcome to Berlin the many visiting professionals and people active in other independent scenes that are coming to the federal congress! We – the Performing Arts Program Berlin – are making use of this opportunity and presenting our association, solidarity-based programmes and the Performing Arts Festival in a compact overview followed by an open discussion.
Since it was founded in 2007, LAFT Berlin has been translating the scene's needs into cultural policy work. Today the association works on networking in solidarity, providing support, increasing the scene's external impact and many more goals. In order to support these aims, and develop and execute specific programmes, the PAP Performing Arts Program was founded in 2013. The PAP works, advises and assists within the independent performing arts in Berlin, in addition to supporting regional and national visibility, as well as creating new partnerships and audiences. In order to enhance the reputation of the independent scene within the city and beyond, LAFT Berlin also founded the PAF Performing Arts Festival in 2016, a city-wide decentralised festival, which the association produces on behalf of all venues, production houses, independent groups, solo artists and others active in the independent performing arts.
We're looking forward to conversation with colleagues interested in our work, in-depth exchange and thought-provoking discussions about the programmes and formats that already exist, and those that are lacking, in Berlin and across the country – from the scene for the scene!
The event will be held in German and will be translated simultaneously into English. There is no need to register for the event.
